Experience sampling and context-dependence of users’ responses

Experience sampling and context-dependence of users’ responses

Team: Andrej Košir, Žiga Nagelj, Janez Zaletelj, Matevž Miškec

The goal of the project is to develop a statistical methodology for advanced data analysis to investigate the dependence of survey responses on the situation (context) in which responders provide their answers. Understanding this dependence could lead to the removal of certain types of biases in these responses and a core part of experience sampling domain.

Our approach is based on the sampling experience method. It involves the design and implementation of a situation dependent experience sampling mobile application. The application is designed to acquire responses of real users in real situations.

We have developed a mobile application for the development of context models and for the development of machine learning automatic context detection based on mobile device sensors. Its privacy policy is available here.
